Jam Synth is a fully-featured monophonic guitar synthesizer and multi FX app for iPhone. It offers a unique guitar-infused edge to your synth leads by tracking the pitch and amplitude of an incoming guitar signal. Unlike typical pitch to MIDI converters, Jam Synth forgoes MIDI altogether when producing sounds internally, resulting in more organic synth sounds.
The app features three phase distortion oscillators (four on iPad) with eight different wave shapes, including saw, square, pulse, and resonant options. The filter can be set to track picking dynamics, adding even more expressiveness to your guitar playing.
Jam Synth also includes an input section with gate, compressor, ADSR, and input filter, allowing you to shape your guitar signal before it hits the synthesizer. Furthermore, the app offers a range of unique FX, such as a fully-featured LFO with five wave shapes, stereo delay with filter, 3D chorus, intelligent harmonizer, rotary vibe, rainbows, and time stopper.
The app supports tap tempo, incoming MIDI clock sync, and Inter App Audio sync for syncing the LFO, stereo delay, and rotary vibe effects. It also offers highly accurate pitch tracking and tuner, accurate to 1/10th of a cent. Additionally, Jam Synth provides MIDI OUT and guitar to MIDI conversion for controlling other MIDI synths with your guitar through Core MIDI accessories and Virtual MIDI.
